Project: People Watching Animals

I unofficially started this project in 2008 when I went to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha for the first time, armed with my new camera and about to head off to photojournalism school. Most of the photos I took were of the zoo animals. Later, though, I became more interested in the people looking at the animals, since zoos and aquariums are often the only places that wild creatures can be seen–and even then, they’re not truly wild.
